Built once, working on every listing you own

Brand Story is the only asset on Amazon with a multiplier built into it. You design one carousel and it appears above the A+ content on every listing in the brand — so a catalogue of forty products gets forty improvements for the cost of one build.

For a brand nobody has heard of, that is the cheapest credibility available. Each product page gains a visible reason to believe a real company stands behind the listing, which is exactly the doubt that stops a first-time buyer choosing you over the established name two rows down.

It is also why the arithmetic flips with catalogue size. With one or two products, do A+ first — the multiplier does not exist yet. With a real range and no Brand Story, it is usually better value than a forty-first A+ page, and a fraction of the work.

What belongs in it, and the mistake everyone makes

Only things that stay true no matter which product they landed on: who you are and why the brand exists, said in a sentence rather than an essay; the one thing you stand for that a competitor cannot copy — materials, testing, sourcing, a guarantee; the range, as navigation; and one image with a person in it, because brands with faces outsell anonymous ones.

The mistake is putting product-specific content in it. Because the carousel appears everywhere, anything written about your best-seller is actively wrong on the other thirty-nine listings — a shopper looking at your travel size reads a panel about the family pack and quietly concludes nobody is paying attention.

The reverse happens too: a founder's story occupying the top three A+ modules, pushing what the buyer actually needs below the fold. If it is true of the brand rather than the product, it belongs in the carousel.

The navigation strip is the real payload

The part of Brand Story that most brands treat as decoration is the row of category tiles, and it is the closest thing Amazon gives you to a cross-sell that does not look like an ad. A shopper who arrived for one product can step sideways into your range — or through to your Brand Store — without ever seeing a competitor's listing.

That matters because the alternative is Amazon's own "customers also viewed" strip, which is full of people selling against you. Anything that keeps a buyer inside your brand instead is worth more than it looks.

It works best when the tiles match how buyers actually divide your range — by use, size or problem — rather than by your internal product categories. Those are frequently not the same thing, and the buyer's version wins.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is the Amazon Brand Story module?
A scrollable carousel that appears above A+ content on your product pages. Unlike A+, it is set once at brand level and shows across your whole catalogue, which makes it the cheapest way to give an unfamiliar brand credibility on every listing at once.
Is Brand Story the same as A+ content?
No. Brand Story sits above A+ and is about the brand; A+ sits below it and is about the product. They do different jobs and a listing benefits from both.
Do I need Brand Registry for Brand Story?
Yes — the same enrolment that unlocks A+ content.
